Brushing your teeth is a daily activity we have been taught do from our childhood. The virtues of brushing twice a day have been imbibed in us. The technique has also been explained to us by dentists. Still, do you feel whether your toothpaste is working for you or not? Just check if you are employing the appropriate methods while brushing your teeth. Getting the perfect smile is not exactly rocket science. Just maintain the correct brushing and flossing habits you have been doing for long and leave all the serious stuff for the dentist to take care of.

After following a brushing routine why do you still have teeth problems? Maybe because there is a lot of importance placed on keeping the cavities clean but you should keep your gums clean and strong as well. If your gums are weak then it may bleed at the most inopportune moment. If you do not take care of gums they tend to get damaged and eroded within no time. Most of the reasons for tooth decay are related to gum problems. Gum problems can be seen as early as in the first twenty five years. Maintaining the gums plays an essential part in keeping your teeth in a good condition.

If you stick to a well planned oral hygiene technique you will hardly be troubled with gum problems. Taking care of the teeth cavities and gums on a regular processing in accordance with a proper technique will help defend against any kind of germs. Our teeth are more complex structures than they look. The outer covering of the tooth is the layer called enamel. The crown of the tooth is looked after by the enamel. The neck and the root constitute the other parts of the tooth. The root is also called as dentine which is considered to be of utmost importance in teeth whitening procedures.

Gums connect the tooth to the rest of our mouth. Every tooth has its own nerves and blood vessels present in the nerve cavity of the tooth. The nutrients to the tooth are carried by the blood vessels. The nerves determine the sensitivity of the tooth. This is some of the scientific knowledge that a dentist would know of. The point is to make you aware of what are the parts of your teeth and the necessity to look after your teeth.
