<p><strong>Why do we age?</strong></p>
<p>The reason for this inevitable process is of course because all life has a natural cycle-we live, are born, then we die. During this time, we experience a natural decline in production of hormones that keep us looking young.<br />
For instance, by the time we are 70 years old we product less than half of the human growth hormone we did when we were 20 years old.</p>
<p>Furthermore, production of collagen, which is responsible for the firmness of our skin, helps us remain younger-looking. As we grow older the production of this chemical gradually decreases, and the same is true for elastin as well as other hormones.</p>
<p>Aside from the natural aging process, we also have environmental factors that affect us. For instance, of course the sun-although a very great source of Vitamin D-can harm us if we do not protect ourselves. This can actually speed up the process in which wrinkles appear on our skin.</p>
<p>Other damage to the cells, tissues, and organs of the human body also can wear us down and shorten our lives. This can also lead to an appearance that is much older-looking than what we could potentially portray at a certain age.</p>
<p>Cancer as well as accidents and age-related illnesses also cause a variety of problems. This is one reason many people look much older than they actually are.</p>
<p>Of course, lifestyle choices can affect how we look. For instance, smoking can cause wrinkles or yellow teeth. (Not to mention lung cancer!)</p>
<p>So can drinking coffee. Excess alcohol or drug use can result in not only skin problems but also a long list of other ailments.</p>
<p><strong>Anti-Aging Efforts</strong></p>
<p>Wide varieties of methods used to remain youthful are available. These range from collagen injections and surgery to the alternatives, which produce similar results.</p>
<p>Some people who want to remain young-looking may also use a variety of skin rejuvenation methods, such as homemade facial masks. Firming treatments are often found that people take home and use for this purpose.</p>
<p>People also find creative ways to preserve their teeth, hair, bones, or any other part of the body the can. All of these anti-aging efforts are done in order to make the most of the life we have and to live as long of one as possible-up to 120 years can be expected.</p>

<p><strong>The use of sunscreen is necessary, especially when being out in the midday sun cannot possibly be avoided.</strong> It helps also if it is waterproof and/or also contains natural moisturizing agents. This will help you even while swimming and having fun all day long on vacation.</p>
