Roadblocks to work at Home Success
You can succeed if you work at home. However, you should try to break down any of the roadblocks that could hinder you from becoming as successful as can be. Some of the most common roadblocks to work at home success include as follows:
Not saving money-You should remember to set aside a third of your business expenses for future expansion, work-related emergencies, and repair expenses. Aside from saving money you should also consider stocking up on supplies if you need any for your operation.
Not spending wisely-If you squander all your earnings immediately you are never going to realize your dreams. Furthermore, if you waste your money by spending it foolishly on things you do not need it will be the fastest way back to total poverty. Be careful how you allocate your funds.
Not having a vision statement- If you do not have any idea at all of what direction you want to go in, it will be hard to succeed at any venture you attempt to undergo. You are advised to write down what you hope to achieve-especially when pertaining to what you have to offer to your customers or clients.
Not having a business plan at all-This is one step worse than not having a vision/mission statement. You should have financial, vocational, operational, and personal goals set for yourself as you continue.
Lack of sufficient funds-It can be very difficult to run a business smoothly if you do not have enough funds. Thank goodness many work at home opportunities require little to no start up money. In fact, many automated operations today are run right out of the house for under $100.00 a month.
Disorganization-If you do not even remember where you put what last most of the time you are in trouble. Use computerized software, hire outside help, or do whatever you need to do to set up your workspace so you have a place for everything. This will increase your productivity drastically.
Laziness-If you fail to do what you are suppose to do (i.e. client projects, create useful and interesting website content, not take time to promote) you will fail as an entrepreneur. Likewise, if you happen to be an affiliate marketer who works on commission you will get know where by sleeping until noon every day or just not putting in full effort.
Addictions-This costs you financially, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Not only are you spending all your profits on harmful substances or vices (for example porn, compulsive gambling, excess alcohol, cigarettes) but it ruins you. Harmful vices ruin you from the inside out.
Poor health-If you do not take care of yourself it can have an affect on your productivity. It also can cause you to be a poor manager if you oversee other people.
Furthermore, it would be very hard for you to attend to your customer’s needs if you are not in good health. Take care of your self the best you can, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
I would say that another to be added to the list is GOALS. Without specific and attainable goals, a business will not have direction. Make realistic goals and write them down. Add them to your calendar to review at the end of every week. Incorporate them into your “to-do” list.
