Risks and Rewards
The lower-concentrated treatments are less likely to cause irritation. They may take longer to produce desired results, though.
The highest-concentrated solutions are used in a dental office. These produce faster results but might result in more irritation, and might also cause dehydration.
Certain procedures used to whiten teeth might also result in leakage. This often is a result of the solution clashing with a restoration procedure you may have used.
Care: Before and After
Before undergoing any brightening procedure, you are advised to clean your mouth thoroughly. This includes brushing and flossing before use of a bleaching product.
Afterwards, you should brush your teeth at least twice a day-at least once in the morning and once before bed. Furthermore, it is best if you reduce or eliminate substances such as tobacco, coffee, dark sodas, and candy.
