Can you think of any job that is as boring and laborious aside from being a dishwasher? Probably not. Nevertheless it is a kind of work to be carried out meticulously as it is relevant with health and hygiene. Some people complain that cooking easier than washing the dishes. There will be substantially number of pans, dishes, tumblers, bowls and spoons and forks even in a very small households to clean after every time food is cooked or served. Furthermore, it’s not a just once a day duty but a process to be repeated several time in the series of a day. Those people with hectic lifestyles in the changed socio-economic environment have forced them to depend on more mechanical devices in order to reduce the burden of household chores and of course to save time for rest and recreation.

This is the main reason why dishwashers are now much sought after by consumers. There are countless of brands and models of dishwasher available now in the market. These were manufactured mainly to cater the increasing needs of the society. It is now the responsibility of the consumers to choose particular sizes and models that suit their specific requirements. But like all other mechanical devices dishwashers have sustained several changes in their forms and typical features. Some of the latest machines have electronic controls and special features to make them more consumers oriented. Due to the need of these kinds of machines, water and energy which are essential inputs for the dishwashers became more and more expensive. Wise consumers are now more up to machines which are fficient in water and energy consumptions. For people who do not have time they are tempted to buy this kind of product and is therefore necessary for them to choose devices or machines which are automatic and can be programmed in advance.

Notice that the markets are adequately responding to the consumer demands. All leading manufacturers have their say in the global markets with their famous brands. To name a few are Bosch, Electolux, Zanussi, Smeg, Hotpoint and Indesit. Some machines which are free standing, or built in dishwashers, some uses less than 15 liters of water for every load of dishes, some are portables. Those are only some options that the consumer can choose from depending on their lifestyle, for those who live in their homes can choose the built-in ones which will fit into the system suiting the ambiance. And those who live in apartments or small houses can go for portable ones. Otherwise free standing machines will be the best choice for those whose washing requirements are extremely high.

With regards to the programs and some other features of most of the average sized machines will have 4 to 5 settings with different temperature controls; 1) Normal, 2) fast, 3) economy, 4) half load and 5) intensive, these are available in the modern dishwashers. There are some which are capable of increasing and diminishing water temperature to cope up with the degree of dirt embedded on the dishes at times pre-wash rinse may be needed. Many modern machines are also incorporated with sensors to monitor the quality and temperature of water. Features like these are available and intended to make them more user friendly and result oriented.
