Every one today wants to look great. Guys and girls both desire a well textured and curved body. Looking good in today’s world is as important as food to a hungry fellow. It is said “easier said that done”. Though every one wants to have a perfect body however the same calls for lot of discipline and balance. Both the things are not easy to maintain on regular basis. In the modern day world the kind of life style that we have, we hardly get time to eat forget about regular exercising to keep the body fit & in shape.

The result of such a reckless lifestyle is face by the entire world by a disease called obesity. People are looking forward for shortcuts for losing weight. One of the most popular one that is catching up these days is – Diet Pills. These diet pills either stimulate your metabolism to burn more calories than average and the others would suppress your hunger. There are ready supplements available claiming to reduce your weight in weeks or days as well. To be on the safer side such products should never be consumed without consulting a physician. There are two kinds of prescribed diet pills available in the market – Prescription diet pills and OTC diet pills.

Prescription Diet Pills are the diet drugs that are very closely evaluated & monitored FDA. The FDA would have a strict eye on the side effects of such product. This product is basically for people suffering from obesity with BMI over 35. Clearly these drugs are not cosmetic solution for weight loss.

OTC diet Pills also called as Over the Counter Diet pills. This comes under the category of food supplements rather than a drug to diet. As it doesn’t have that status of a drug hence is not regulated. However, FDA examines and tests such diet pills to ensure the safety of the consumers. There has been a confusion regarding the relatively safest diet pill when prescription diet pills and the OTC diet pills are compared.

The chance of being successful in losing weight using these diet pills is about 50%. Popping in a pill and losing weight is not the way that you could get under the successful 50% figure. With the diet pill you would be expected to be under medical supervision with a balanced and controlled diet.

Researches are concentrating in ways of intervening with the digestive system to control weight gain or suppress the appetite by getting in to the brain sectors and researching around what stimulates such appetite. No great success has been reported the experiments are still in progress.
